Today’s post was going to be about this weekend’s Boden delivery but infuriatingly I dropped my iPhone down the loo at the cinema this morning during a trip out with the boys and it had all the photos on it. Having recovered from the grim experience of having to put my hand down a toilet that looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks, I’m now watching it dry in a bag of silica gel and just keeping my fingers crossed that it will revive!
So, instead, I thought I’d bring up the other thing I’ve been pondering over this weekend – what to do with the £15 catalogue voucher that most people seem to have received last week. Part of the reason for me starting this blog was because I was wearing too much Boden and I needed to introduce some variety to my wardrobe. Since I’ve gone down a dress size, Boden also just doesn’t seem to be working for me as well as it used to. In fact looking at my order history since January, I’ve sent 75% of my orders back (Mr MC is quietly celebrating). It’s all very strange.
Working in retail marketing, I know that this means I’ve become the most expensive type of customer to have. Unsurprisingly I’ve noticed that I’ve gone from being an A-list customer, inundated with season preview offers, special rewards and free returns to being something of a C-list who doesn’t get much at all. So, I was really pleased to get last week’s voucher; my problem is that there’s a lot I want to buy this month and although Boden has lots of lovely things, I’m having to be disciplined. Of course I could spend it on the boys but then I thought I’d have a little look around to see what you could get without much of an extra outlay bearing in mind it can be used with the 11% discount offer too. Here goes:
Canvas Shopper £19
And don’t forget to look at the Johnnie B range – their size 15 – 16 is about a 12 and the shoes sizes go up to adult so you’re getting lovely Boden quality but without the added VAT.
Beach hat – foldable for packing £16
Boatneck Breton £16
5 pack of socks £20
Scoop neck graphic t-shirt £18
Scoop neck graphic t-shirt £18
So what have I chosen? Well it’s down to the Johnnie B hat and the colourblock Breton… the Breton’s the most sensible choice and I know the colours are good for me. Have any of you been disciplined with your voucher or did it tempt you to buy something you’ve been deliberating over? Let me know – sometimes when you see something through someone else’s eyes it gives you a completely different outlook.
