Now that the sun has finally appeared, I imagine everyone will be shopping frantically so I just wanted to show you this simple summer broderie collection from Uniqlo. Why? Because the pieces are less than half the price of broderie from some of our favourite retailers. I really resent paying £60 for a little white cotton top. Maybe it’s just my laundry skills but I find that they only last one summer before they go chewing gum coloured and need replacing. These are a great option for a wardrobe refresh.
Short sleeve embroidery blouse £19.90, 100% cotton, also available in navy and black
Lace short sleeve t-shirt £12.90 a cotton and modal mix, also available in light grey and navy
Floral lace sleeveless blouse, also available in black and navy
A different cut on the shoulders and looser fit, broderie sleeveless blouse, also available in black and navy
Longer sleeves and a lovely neckline, lace 3/4 sleeve t-shirt, also available in grey and navy
As you can see, they have shorts too. Now these have an elasticated waist which will divide opinion but if you are wearing them with loose tops like the ones above it doesn’t matter; you’ll just feel cooler in the sunshine. The scalloped edge distracts from the width of your thighs which is never a bad thing
Scallop edge shorts, also available in white and black
Embroidered shorts, also available in navy and black
If you aren’t a shorts lover, there are skirts. They say these are knee length so I suspect the model is tall.
Embroidered skirt, also available in black or white
Lastly from the broderie collection, I bring you a simple cotton summer dress that will give you shape, unlike the boho wafty numbers. I think this probably does fall slightly above the knee.
Embroidered flare dress, also available in black and navy
You can finish the look off with a fabulous hat to help protect your face from ageing…
Classic fedora, also available in a darker straw colour or navy
… or opt for this season’s wide-brimmed trend.
Although we’re thinking of sunshine, the weather is still pretty eratic so I thought I’d show you these coats which are a bargain in the sale
This Inés de la Fressange raincoat comes with a little bag so you can keep it with you in case the weather turns. It’s also available in khaki and is less than half price
You may remember that I covered this at the beginning at the season, such a sporty look – great for throwing on to go to the gym. It has Uniqlo’s brilliant down filling and is now less than half price
Inés water repellant down jacket, also available in khaki and blue
An exclusive jewellery discount
One last thing – I wrote about Shelley from Tulip Jewellery a while ago. She is a Midlifechic reader and has the most beautiful collection of simple, contemporary yet well-priced jewellery which I wear a lot. The good news is that she is kindly offering fellow readers an exclusive 15% discount on her collection until 31st May. Just use the code TULIPCHIC when you check out; here’s the link to choose a little treat for yourself.
Ok I must dash, I’m off to meet a friend but I just wanted to write this quick post first because I’m sure this new simple summer broderie collection will sell out quickly. Here are my other posts from this week in case you’ve missed them
