So after the electricity meltdown that was Friday, we had digital meltdown on Saturday and Sunday with absolutely no broadband. This is extremely rare in our house. Because I often like to work from home we have 2 lines, just in case, so if one goes down there’s always a spare. But no, this weekend we had digital silence. So given that it was my first at home for 7 weeks, I decided to make it a mindful Midlifechic weekend and relish the small things. Here’s a recap of my simple pleasures.
Mindful Saturday
A cup of tea in bed to celebrate not having to get up and rush anywhere…
…being chased for pocket money as I leave the house and seeing my youngest’s pleasure as he decides how to spend it…
…time for a chat with the village butcher who teaches me something new each week…
…recycling the egg boxes that we’ve been saving for the butcher’s eggs – I can’t bear to throw egg boxes away…
…choosing a bone for Gary (sorry if you’re vegetarian)…
…couldn’t be bothered to bake so choosing cupcakes for the boys from the bakery…
…fresh fruit and veg…
….lovely ranunculas from the flower shop. Wearing:

…whilst I had an hour of bliss with the newspaper (must be read in a particular order and before anyone else has touched it)…
…bonding over a bonfire at the bottom of the garden…
