Christmas 2023 – letterbox gifts by post
I’ve had a few requests for this – thoughtful ideas that are easy to deliver through a letterbox so here we go, Christmas 2023 – letterbox gifts by post. And forgive me for being rushed this week but life’s a bit full – I’ll have more time to slow down and chat soon!

1. Percy Pig giftbox
The Percy Pig fan club seems to cross all divides and this fits through a letterbox with a selection of goodies inside. If the slightly more sophisticated Colin the Caterpillar is more your thing then there’s a letterbox gift for him here too.
2. Orthodox regions whisky tasting kit
There are lots of whisky gifts around but this one is a little more refined. Pulling together artisan producers from Scotland’s five whisky regions it comes with tasting cards that outline the different nuances of each one so it will please anyone – from beginner to expert.
3. Letterbox selection pack
I can imagine this simple selection of old favourites being a lovely letterbox surprise for someone to receive at their desk – they’d be the most popular person in the office!
4. Adult construction kits
A letterbox gift or a stocking filler, our Christmas morning tradition includes the boys sitting down to build something Santa’s bought them while I’m busy in the kitchen. There’s a great range of little adult construction kits here ranging from Star Wars kits and famous buildings through to WW2 aircraft.
5. A book with a warm drink
Choose a special edition classic novel and an indulgent tea or coffee to go with it. This letterbox gift is beautifully wrapped with a limited edition dust jacket and a bookmark that corresponds to your chosen tome. Currently 20% off.
6. Letterbox afternoon tea
It would be nice to send this and time it with a Zoom call so that you could enjoy afternoon tea with someone you haven’t seen for a while (of course it would work best if you ordered one for yourself too!).
7. Perfect British cheeseboard letterbox selection
A special treat for a savoury lover, three British cheeses – a blue, a hard and a soft with award winning biscuits to go with them. Arrives ice packed for freshness.
8. Letterbox calligraphy set
A beautifully presented calligraphy starter kit with pen, two nibs, an alphabet starter set and downloadable worksheets. Currently 20% off.
9. Decorated letterbox Christmas tree
A thoughtful alternative to flowers at this time of year, especially for someone who is in an office, nursing home or small flat. It’s a real tree so it’s a sustainable choice and it comes through the letterbox with its pot, compost, lights and baubles.
10. Letterbox cocktail kit
Send a party to someone who can’t be with you. This letterbox gift contains approximately nine premixed cocktails with a shelf life of thirty days. The selection includes aperol spritz, negroni and cosmopolitan and they come with the garnish too.
11. Art by post
This one is reader recommended! The art subscription is a great idea for any art lover and a good way to support up and coming artists. Set up a subscription for somebody and four times a year they’ll receive a wax sealed set of four postcards from emerging artists who are working across different mediums. A ‘meet the artists’ booklet is also enclosed, telling the story of the featured artists and their work.
I hope that’s helped those of you who asked for ideas, I know it’s particularly difficult to buy gifts for people in the UK when you live abroad. Thank you to everyone who’s bearing with me while I’m busy. I’m waving not drowning but a few last minute projects have landed on my desk as well as an unexpected trip so I have a lot more on than I anticipated. I’ll be back to writing more in-depth posts soon but I just need to get through the next week or so. See you on Friday!
