It’s always a joy to join up with my friends from the Over40Collective. As you know, we sometimes work together to show how differently women over 40 can interpret the looks on offer from a single brand. This time we’re working with The Eternal Collection who kindly got in touch to ask which piece of jewellery we would choose if we were picking a Christmas present for ourselves. I’ve already been busy, pulling lists together for other people so it a was lovely way to spend an evening.

I always find that my favourite jewellery holds some kind of meaning for me so when I saw this woodlands necklace, I knew it was the one I would choose. I love the way that the different gemstones pick up the colours of the woods.

I didn’t choose the matching earrings, preferring a simpler look with these large silver freshwater pearls.

Of course the necklace is particularly special because it also contains garnets which are almost my namesake. When they were little I used to refer to my boys as ‘the gemstones’. It isn’t quite as appropriate now that they’re big hairy teenagers.

It’s been fascinating to see what my buddies chose as their shots started to appear in our Dropbox. First up is Liz from whatlizzyloves looking especially Christmassy in red with her sparkly bracelet.

One of the best things about being a part of this group is that we all rejoice in the diversity of our different styles. I’m currently in London having lots of fun with the boys who are telling me to put this laptop down so, there won’t be a post this Friday but I’ll be back next week.

Disclosure: thank you to Eternal Collection for running this collaboration with the Over40Collective
