Join us for a week in Medellin
In February 2025 Nikki and Mal from Midlifechic spent a week in Medellin, Colombia learning to dance salsa with the dance school Somoloco. We had such an amazing time there that we decided to go again, hopefully taking a group of readers with us to share the experience and now we have a happy band looking forward to setting off – but there’s still room for more.
So come and join us for a week in Medellin in September 2026 learning to dance salsa as well as enjoying a few cultural experiences and having a lot of fun.
The trip is running from Sunday 20th – Sunday 27th September 2026 with classes taking place on Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri. No prior salsa experience is necessary, we’d never danced a step before we arrived in February 2025 but equally if you’re an experienced salsero, the teachers are of a national standard so they’ll be able to put you thrugh your paces. Around classes there will be plenty of free time for exploring and/or just resting, there will be optional excursions that you can add in as well as evenings spent together or apart.
The cost for the trip is $2950 (approx £2,290* ) for a couple or $1950 (approx £1,510*) for solo travellers.
This includes a private salsa teacher per booking, accommodation, a welcome dinner, 2 social dancing nights, a musicality class, airport pick-up and drop-off and all credit card fees. Please note that flights, food and optional excursions are excluded. The cost of living in Medellin is very reasonable though.
*to be paid in US dollars, sterling rate quoted depends on conversion rate at time of payment
The trip will be operated and hosted by travel company Somoloco who have years of experience running trips like ours. They will be there to make sure that everyone is well looked after and everything runs smoothly.
If you’d like more information about the trip, the best place to start is by watching this Q&A session that we held a little while ago here.
You can also read the blog post that I wrote all about our experience here.
The group going out in September is a mix of couples and singles from the UK and the US so you’ll be able to meet new likeminded friends and feel safe as part of a group.
If you’d like to book a place and join us, our exclusive Midlifechic booking page is here.
We really look forward to seeing you in September!
